No, there is no police escort. They just use this argument for placing us in the last group. But I am not sure that you will have problems, because my experience is that you always go faster when you participate in an event like this than when you are driving on your own. I think you willl manage. Bring drink and food on your bike and don´t stop at all service places.
Best regards

Hi, i'm going to ride in the recumbent group in Vätternrundan. The only problem is my speed: i did a 300 km test ride in 17 hours, or 17.6 km/h avverage speed. If we leave 5.30, there is only 5.5 hours to avoid being "tagen fron banan", whatever that means, in Jönköping stop, which closes at 11:00. This means 19.8 km/h average speed, which might be hard for me, at least into head wind. I asked if i can start earlier, like slow upright riders do, but i'm told that "they have agreed with police that recumbent group starts 2 min. after everybody else". Does this mean there will be police escort for the group ;) Or if we split up, will everybody have their own police ;) _______________________________________________ HPVS mailing list HPVS@lists.lysator.liu.se http://lists.lysator.liu.se/mailman/listinfo/hpvs
