Eftersom han har en helt rak framgaffel utan böj nertill så kan inte styraxeln luta så mycket som man är van att se. Försprånget skulle bli för stort och cykeln blir svårhanterlig. Mikael

Hi All,
I have been building wooden bikes for over 25 years but the real breakthrough came after I got bent two years ago on a Lightning. I always built wood bikes that looked like steel bikes (truss frame). The recumbent design opened up a whole new world.
My new design is called the Bennett Buckboard, after the western horse drawn buckboard wagon. The buckboard was made of a tough flexible board between two axles that served as both frame and suspension. It was considered far more comfortable in rough country and on long trips than its simple design would suggest.
The Bennett Buckboard uses a board made of 27 or more laminations of baltic birch, which serves as both frame and suspension in a single unit. The resilient wood frame gives a wonderfully smooth and quiet ride. By making a tapered delta shape, I have increased the lateral stiffness while allowing vertical flexibility. The frame also acts as a fender. My shop is full of these baltic birch recumbents: 26-20, 700c-451, dual 26, 26-16, and a new dual 700 front wheel drive that I test rode yesterday. Sam Bennett
Har han inte för vertikal lutning på styrningen. Men den är verkligen härlig att titta på.
Önskar hag kunde göra en trä viking för mig. :)
