The Super Da Vinci Drive-Train Structure (SDV) is pedaled in a straight line rather than in a circular motion in order to make the most efficient use of leg muscles. Though the motion line of this system is shorter than the line for a bicycle that uses a linear drive with a simple up and down motion, the advantage is greater because the leg traces an elliptical path that has no stopping point.
1. A chain runs between two chain-rings, and the pedal is attached directly to the chain. 2. Two free-moving cranks keep the chain from twisting when pedaling. 3. The pedal traces a long ellipsis along the path of the chain and turns the chain-ring
