To add a kåpa could affect how tight you turn. I have learned in to lean into a turn with a trike helps not to tip over.
I have a ICE Spring 26'' and am very satisfied. I average about 22-24km/hr in Stockholm area on a 18km ride. Downhill is not a problem, best has been 54km/hr, average is 37km/hr with slight downhill. The problem is with the uphills. I am trying to get a better average on going uphill but in the end I suspect it is a question of strength.
It would be interesting to see what other people have done to improve their speed and which trikes they have.
The only real solution to get better speed is to live somewhere flat...
