the configure macro AX_CREATE_STDINT_H and the generated nettle-stdint.h file was added more than a decade ago, when stdint.h (and c99) were somewhat new. Do we still need this?
Is anyone building nettle with C compilers which don't provide stdint.h?

Requiring stdint.h would not be an issue on any of the platforms I’m concerned with.
