The Romanian Association for Artificial Intelligence (ARIA) http://www.aria-romania.org/ is pleased to announce the 3rd edition of AI-MAS Winter Olympics (AIWO 2013) http://www.aiolympics.ro/, an international project that brings together representatives from both the academia and the industry, to the aim of sharing their vision and results of AI research.

AIWO 2013 is organized in partnership with well-known companies from the IT industry (e.g. *Facebook*, *Google*, *Adobe*) and *11 Romanian universities*.

This year's edition takes place on *February 23, 2013*, at *University "Politehnica" of Bucharest*, and contains three sections:

* *AI Olympics*: a software competition, Crafting Quest 3 http://www.aiolympics.ro/ai-olympics/crafting-quest-3/, that challenges students to solve complex problems and race against each other. Competitors have until the second part of February to develop, test and submit their solutions. The registration deadline is *February 1*. Teams qualifying for the finals will be invited to Bucharest. We offer total prizes of *3000 EUR* for the first 3 places. * *AI Talks*: a series of tech talks that aim at presenting how research work in the field of AI can help solve real complex problems. As a reference, the agenda from our last edition, AIWO 2011, is available online http://www.aiolympics.ro/2011/event/conference/. * *AI Village*: an exhibition for software and hardware applications, bringing together partners both from the academia and from the industry.

We aim at creating an open and collaborative space, where young minds can share opinions, ideas and learn from respected academics, researchers and software engineers. In the same time, it is also a great opportunity for bringing together people that have dedicated their lifework to AI research, both in the academia, but also in well-known companies from the private sector.

We kindly ask for your support in promoting *AIWO 2013* to students, academics and researchers that might be interested in this project.
