-------- Original Message -------- Hi,
We at NTNU are hosting an on-site programming contest event called "IDI Open" to make the wait for NCP 2011 go by a little faster. As it has most of the previous years the event has been held, it is possible to participate online (although not being eligible for prizes). Last year a team from Ã…rhus was at the top of the total scoreboard.
If you are still active or in contact with students or people (event is open to everyone) interested in participating we hope that you are able to forward this information so that as many as possible can enjoy this event live when it is held the 2nd of April from 11:00 to 16:00. Rules are pretty much the same as ACM with group of up to 3 people trying to solve as many problems as possible in 5 hours (more info on website). We urge online participants to respect these rules, while we hope that as many as possible from other countries and schools choose to take part!
Last year there were over 90 teams participating, and we hope to manage that amount this year as well.
The event website is: http://events.idi.ntnu.no/open11/
A practice event is already up so that registered teams can preview the system in advance of the actual competion. If you (or students at your school) have any question about this event, don't hesitate to ask, and we hope that you contact us about similar events you choose to host.
Kind regards Halvor Strand Contest director, NTNU
