Dorset group

The Dorset group's next meet is 17 November. We're going to see the Harry Potter film at UCI Tower Park (near Poole). The screening is 12.30. (there's still tickets available as of this evening) The booking line number is 0870 010 2030 - it's totally automated and horrible to use, but it does get there in the end. I'm asking people to book their own tickets for this one because I can't cope with that wretched booking line again. (theatre bookings are a doddle by comparison) After the film, we'll head back to my place, possibly via Burger King. (Lifts from the cinema can be arranged if needed) If anyone wants to join us, please let me know (off-list as I'm not currently subbed) and I'll make sure you know how to find/recognise us. Could you give us URLs please? As it is, it sounds like plagiarism, but I can't really tell without reading the stories in question. And just because it *sounds* like plagiarism doesn't necessarily mean that it *is.* It could possibly be a case of someone archiving an earlier version of the story under an old pseud without permission or something. I know of writers who will post stories on their websites and then revise them later, and people who have changed their pseuds. One writer I know heavily expurgated some of her adult stories when she put them on fanfiction.net, so there can be multiple versions of the same story by the same writer out there. As for what happens, a lot depends on the fandom itself. At the least, I think the "rewrite" should be taken down and the plagiarist warned not to do it again. Generally, the plaigiarist will be persona non grata for quite some time in that fandom as well. Tiger M

Hi all, Tonight i received an e-mail from a Matthew Deane in Australia, with the subject line, " �=!"# $ % " It contains an attatchment called "start.exe", which may be a virus. I am posting this to warn Lyst users not to download or execute this attatchment. The B7 Movie list address, newsletter(a)www.blakes7.com , seems to be resending this message to subscribers of this list. I also recieved an e-maIL from a subscriber to this list, and two replies, which appear to have been relayed via newsletter(a)www.blakes7.com I do realise we aren't supposed to send virus warnings to the Lyst, but it seems relevent to the group, as many may be subscibed to the B7 Movie list. I apologise for any inconvenience caused by this warning. I also apologise if a warnng has already been posted here. Zine publication question

I have a question about zine publication. Here's the scenario. My father has written a book - it's not B7 related (unfortunately) - and he wants to publish it. The reason I'm asking about this here is that the scale of it is similar to some B7 zines. The specifications: It's approximately 100 pages (A4 double-sided, so that's around 50 pieces of paper). There are a further ten pages of colour maps that need to be included (possibly as single-sided inserts). There's also a simple cover (obviously). We only have a low-ish quality inkjet printer; so I suggested that he can get the book reproduced at a print shop; he wants about thirty copies with binding (for which we also don't have the facilities). The book exists currently as a Microsoft Word file; he also has a hard copy ready for me to proof-read for him. If he decides to go to a print shop, roughly how much would they charge for reproduction and binding? Also, what format would they need the book? Hard copy, or data file? Many thanks Wildean
