Given that the poll is only debian (I use fedora, and lots of people don't use debian based distributions), also that it is only getting people who actually use the poll, and probably a bunch of other caveats. I probably wouldn't count on those types of polls to have any kind of statistical significance.

I will have to tell you that I'm pleased with this. SQLite glue segfault in 7.7

I just noticed that the SQLite module in 7.7 will segfault if you run a query that returns zero rows (as opposed to a query that throws an error). Since it uses some array aggregation magic i don't fully understand, I thought I'd leave it to someone else. pgsql performance

I've been working on a PGsql helper class to speed up the hotspots in my new pgsql PostgreSQL driver; so far it works rather well, and the performance of the new driver has leaped from 10% of the libpq module, to about 45% of the libpq module. I won't be including the module until I have it at about 100% (or greater) of the libpq speed though. -- Sincerely, Stephen R. van den Berg. Expect the unexpected!

Accessing variables in a class object from within a CMOD?

Suppose I have a cmod function: PIKEFUN array decodedatarow(int msglen, object portal) { ... } Which is called as: class portal { int a; int b; }; portal abc=portal(); decodedatarow(12, abc); How would I access the svalues of the members a and b from within the cmod function decodedatarow() ? -- Sincerely, Stephen R. van den Berg. readline bug

hi, after being annoyed by this for a while i finally managed to track down the following issue: try: void main() { object rl=Stdio.Readline(); rl->write("first"); rl->write("second"); rl->newline(); } notice how the second clobbers the first? this is particularely annoying in hilfe where i see it often. the problem is in the readline write function which first resets the cursor to the beginning of the line. this can be fixed in two possible ways: force a newline if the cursor is not in column 0, or don't reset the cursor. i prefer adding the newline. the one thing i am concerned about is that someone might expect this behaviour by now and a compatibility thing is needed. thoughts? any other reason not to fix this now? patches attached. greetings, martin.

Release preparations

There is to much churn in 7.7 to get a release out any time soon if it doesn't stop. I've been tolerating the noice in Postgres because the person making the changes is the only person I know that uses Postgres, but it's time to freeze things now. What's more I'll start backing out changes that are not discussed, documented and added to the ChangeLog. Especially when fiddling with core APIs. LMTP fix: 7.7 or 7.9?

I found a semantic error in the LMTP module: the various domain checks assume one or more "handled domains" that consist of exactly 2 host components. Therefore, if you try to create an LMTP server object with a domain of "foo.bar.com", checks will fail due to the code ignoring the "foo" component. Is a fix for this something that is allowable for 7.7, or shall it be held for 7.9? Bill
