One reason they might want to keep up this particular illusion is as a
surveillance …
[View More]method, I suppose. Presumably if Blake's siblings "write"
to him, he'll send his own vistapes back, and the Feds can monitor them
for any traces that Blake's conditioning is slipping. Maybe they enven
deliberately include stuff in the faked tapes designed to test or
reinforce that conditioning.
(Sorry to send this to you twice, Dana. I hit The Wrong Button.)

Hi everyone, for some time now I've been unable to post to the Lyst. Now my
server has changed its hardware and operational system, so I want to see if
my mail will pass through this time. Happy Ortodox New Year - it's tommorow.

Servie too, please :-)

Particularly not if the channel showing the programme concerned keeps
changing the timeslots. My mother has just had a lot of fun over the
Christmas period trying to tape Farscape for my brother while he was
shiftworking. (In New Zealand. He's going to be doing a lot of sitting in
front of a television when he comes home.) Channel 9 was showing it twice a

I'd like to vote for Piri too, with Servalan as a second option.
I like the character of Servalan; she reminds me of one of my old bosses.

Someone once told me 'Prime' would have to indicate the first planet, which is why GP could have never been named Darlon IV. However, if 'Prime' indicates the biggest planet in the system, then it could easily …

Interesting. And they use Roman numerals in astronomy, so Del Ten would
really be Del X?
Is Gauda Prime's sun called Darlon, or was that just an …
[View More]example?
So Jupiter would be Sol Prime, and Darlon has no gas giants. That brings up
another question - do most solar systems have gas giants? Or could they just
have one or two Earth-sized planets, or none at all (a 'blind' sun is
mentioned in the series). Were planets formed differently from the accretion
disks of different sorts of suns?

Continuing The Importance of Being Avon
Avon: The late Mr. Thomas Cardew, an old gentleman of a very charitable
and kindly nature, found me, and gave me the name of Avon, because he
happened to have a first-class ticket for Avon in his pocket at the time.
Avon is a place in England. It is a riverside resort.
Lady Bracknell: Where did the the charitable gentleman who had a
first-class ticket for this riverside resort find you?
Avon (gravely): With a handgun.
Lady Bracknell: A handgun?
…
[View More]Avon: Yes, Lady Bracknell. I was with a handgun - a somewhat large,
black leather handgun, with handles to it - an ordinary handgun, in fact.
Lady Bracknell: In what locality did this Mr. Gareth, or Thomas, Cardew
come across this ordinary handgun?
Avon: In the cloak-room at Victoria Station. It was given to him in
mistake for his own.
