Parser.C.split() bug?

hi, this looks like a bug to me, but i can't make out what's wrong: > Parser.C.split("\"fo,o\",bar,ga,zo\\\"ng"); Start must not be greater than the length of the string. Unknown program: search("\"fo,o\",bar,ga,zo\\\"ng\n\0","\"",23) /usr/local/pike/7.6.7/lib/modules/Parser.pmod/C.pmod:232: Parser.C->split("\"fo,o\",bar,ga,zo\\\"ng\n\0",0) it does not seem to be within that block where the error occurs, but rather somewhere before something must be setting pos to a value that's to high. greetings, martin.

The string is which timezone in Calendar.Timezone will be used, or a string to identify the "tzdata" timezone (Europe/Stockholm-like). The "locale" timezone is a magic timezone that will, from the TZ string and/or localtime() function, determine which timezone the locale settings are put to. If it fails, it will default to Timezone.localtime(), which uses localtime() for time offset and names. It isn't. It's just for your install. So this isn't a fix to the original problem with xenofarm.

MinGW

I've now successfully built a Pike from CVS with MinGW. The big trouble has been bison, but I took a Cygwin-compiled bison and put in the MinGW installation and it worked. There are still some minor problems with sed-scripts and make rules, but with some manual tinkering I managed to get a working Hilfe.

xenofarm & Calendar

Sorry to have messed up a bit at xenofarm, My Linux sparc64 is listed 3 times, the first time I misconfigured /etc/hosts. The second has something to do with the fact it now runs from cron as user, and not from commandline as root. Now the build itself, on both machine (alpha and malcolm) the testsuite fails at 2 points, currently I'm looking at the first. The function: Calendar.Minute(2040,11,8,2,46) returns an error. When I run it from hilfe I get the same error see below. However on other Linux machines it runs fine. The API in XML.Tree is completely different. That's why I haven't converted Web.RDF already.

Status of RSS support

I've been fiddling with Web.RSS in Pike 7.6, and I'm wondering what people are using it for. From what I can tell, it's RSS 1.0 only, and I've not been able to get it to successfully parse any of the RSS 1.0 files I've fed it. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or not. Anyone out there have any first hand knowledge of using it? On a side note, I wrote an RSS 2.0 parser; it's not complete yet, but I've had good luck with it so far. I'd be happy to pass it around if anyone's interested in helping out with it. Bill

PPC machine code vs gcc 4.0

I just tried compiling Pike 7.4 using gcc 4.0 (prerelease) on OS X and got an error about the CALL_MACHINE_CODE asm macro in src/code/ppc32.h clobbering r31 (which I guess is the purpose of that code). Any hints on how to get the compiler to accept it?

question about lock file or the "return -1"

I wrote code : ====================================== int main() { Stdio.File f=Stdio.File("lockfile","cr"); object l=f->lock(); write("I lock the file"); sleep(8); return -1; } ======================================= I run this program in two processes,one after anthoer, the second process would write "I lock the file" after 8 secconds the first process start to run. But if i wrote ======================================= int main() { Stdio.File f=Stdio.File("lockfile","cr"); object l=f->lock(); write("I lock the file"); return -1; } ======================================= and run in two processes, one after anthoer, the second process would write "I lock the file" immediately after it started. I want to know why this happens, and why "return -1" is not work in this situation. I always think if I write "return -1" in the main(), the process will not quit and the file lock in the process will not destroy
