Nope, we each fell in love with him all on our own :-) I did on an early viewing of Gambit, before I even realised there was a mailing list. He's *always* been my 4th favourite character after Avon and Blake, then Vila.
"He's such an obscure character that even knowing who he *is* denotes that you're a serious (? not the right word, I know!) B7 fan,"
Hey, I adore Dr Bellfriar (Killer) and Rashel (Weapon) just as much. Though 'tis true that they don't get the Lyst-width.
There are two reasons why I adore the Gnome (besides the fact that he brings out a side of Servalan we see nowhere else). Firstly, like Rashel, he's an ordinary person somehow managing to survive - even to thrive - in this human-shark-infested galaxy. None of the regulars are ordinary, really - even Gan, who's the nearest to Everyman, is extraordinarily strong and brave, and has an unusually strong moral streak. Even Vila, who's so fallible he'd fit on Allo Allo, is brilliant at his own work, is quick and amusing mentally, and has some hidden depths. And the rest are all extraordinary in their individual ways. But Jarriere isn't. He's 'living' proof that one *can* muddle through, even here, and somehow manage to stay alive ...
Secondly, he's an integral part of that part of the show that I love for its sheer sense of the ridiculous.
"PS Dear Jarrigoths, No more pictures of Og off-lyst, please."
You sure that's not Steve trying to recruit for *his* initiation rite?
Sally
Who would people put in among the Starry guest Stars anyway? The ones that seem to be more generally memorable (if not necessarily appealing)? I'd take a guess at Anna Grant, of course, and possibly Del; Avalon; Carnell (mutter grumble); Dorian, Egrorian, Bayban, and Brian the Spider.
