Well, no. Most people are in fandom to enjoy themselves. YOu know, to have a good time. That means doing things that they like, reading the fan fiction that they enjoy and maybe writing the fan fiction that they enjoy. Why should a slash fan give a flip what someone who doesn't like slash thinks about slash? Same for any other segment of fandom. You seem to be assuming that h/c fans or slash fans or fill-in-the-blank fans *want* to know why you don't like what they like. Speaking for myself, I don't spend time worrying about that kind of thing and when someone comes along and insists on telling me why they don't like what I like, I'm going to say "You're entitled to your opinion" (and you are!), but I don't really care why they don't like it. I'm going to spend my time, as Carol said, recommending good reading and chatting with those other fans who *do* share my interests (*whatever* they may be).

True. Couldn't agree with you more. So why are you getting so hot under the collar about somebody else's opinion?
