And she had new reasons for not wanting to return that she didn't want to discuss in front of Avon. Whatever they were, when she said she might tell them someday, it sounded like a threat.

The first part's obvious. Avon offended everyone on the planet, and Cally had to work hard to keep them from killing him. But what was the second part, something so bad or surprising to _this_ bunch?
