I am suddenly imagining Avon, Tarrant, and Vila sitting on the flight deck, watching a game. Avon and Tarrant would get into lengthy discussions (heated on Tarrant's side, snidely cool [which is the same thing for him] on Avon's) about different teams chances. Avon would quote stats and the overall history of the game. Tarrant would talk about blood, sweat, and tears, having heart and team spirit, and then give specific anecdotes (like the time his favorite player, whose overall stats stink, made some heroic save in the last quarter [or half, or inning, or whatever]).

Vila, who just loves the game, would sometimes get dragged in. If nothing else, he would be a convenient person for Avon and Tarrant to redirect comments to, ("Hey, Vila, do you know what happens when a student flunks out of Federation Banking and transfers to the Space Academy? The grade point at both schools goes up." [Whether or not he mentioned the actual person this joke was based on, Jarvik, is a matter of speculation]).

Dayna would try to get involved but would be baffled ("The object of the game is _what_? A hat trick? What hat? And what does the quaffle have to do with it?"). Cally would simply be appalled at the violence ("My people have a saying: any game with frequent head injuries should only be played by idiots who don't have anything left to lose" [Vila: "Oh, that's not the players, Cally. This game's really nonviolent. You're watching the fans"]).

Orac would wind up quietly designing a bookie subroutine.
