Alison:
One finally notes that male cultural commentators like Kim Newman and Paul Morley seem to have cottoned on to the whole subtext thingy, and that clips were chosen accordingly.
Mmm. Not sure about their overall choice of talking heads. On the one hand, Jayne Dearsley from SFX countering the image that all sf fans are speccy twats; on the other, M.J. Simpson, who said some interesting and intelligent stuff, but was swamped by his delivery. Sigh. Mind you, I've come to the conclusion that Kim Newman should be in print or on radio, but never on tv until he gets to a %$£& barber's.
I was disappointed by the lack of "here's what didn't make it into the top ten" segments that they sometimes include, too.
Anyone got the actual list, for discussion purposes? As I recall:
Space: 1999 The Tomorrow People Buck Rogers in the 25th Century Sapphire and Steel Blake's 7 Thunderbirds Red Dwarf Doctor Who Star Trek
Um, and one more. Which wasn't the Clangers. Bastards.
