I *am* unabashedly sentimental (let no one think I'd deny it) if not very romantic or reverent. As I've said before, one of the things that appeals *most* to me about Blake's 7 is its sense of the ridiculous mixed in with the gloom and doom, and, having thought about it, I have noticed that my labels do appear *most* often when I'm discussing any aspect that *does* appeal to my own (the wardrobe room, the fact that Blake's got such an endearingly unenthusiastic set of rebels, the fact that the grim - they're fighting a hopelessly uneven and unwinnable fight - is mixed so beautifully with the fantastic - they're doing it in the flying equivalent of a five star hotel with a computer nanny and all!!!
Also, you haven't heard the way I use words *normally*. 'Tis very much the same, I'm afraid (our own ittle bitty puddytat BTW has six names depending on how annoying she's being at the minute. Makes no difference, she only answers to 'dinner'). No I don't call the Boss My Darling but then he's neither as murderous or pretty as Avon.
<Diminishing these crooks, killers and mercenaries into her 'darlings' and 'boys' gives her a measure of control over them, a quasi-maternal role in which she can frown on the less savoury antics of these naughty little children whilst still loving them for who they are.>
<grin> you realise of course that I'm now wondering why Zen doesn't start calling them 'darlings'. And they ain't boys, even if they are younger than me. I grew out of heroic youngsters round about 10 years old.
You do also realise all these brilliant deductions isn't going to change a thing about my posts.
<Of course, if she was coming to Redemption this weekend I wouldn't say any of this, but I know she isn't so there's no chance of her beating me up.>
Wouldn't dream of it anyway. I'm almost certainly shorter, fatter and more out of condition than you. I'll start calling *you* darling instead.

But I'm almost certainly taller, leaner and fitter than you, so that might be a very dangerous habit to get into.
Though height, weight and physical condition apart, you probably could still beat me up.
