Yes, very succinctly put. That's all I was getting at. You (meaning a universal you) cannot *own* a thread on a public mailing list and if you think you can, you are setting yourself up to be annoyed...and disappointed. Not to mention the people who might get annoyed when you try to impose your vision of what the thread "should" be on them.
