tech in respect of everything else that you do.
I don't understand what you mean by that.
OK, well obviously I'm only talking about what sounds plausible in a story. But the idea is that you can imitate a more earth-like environment, so you don't have to invent technological fixes for helping people overcome non-earthlikeness. An example would be that you can have ordinary windows that look out at a static view, instead of having to invent the kind of static-projection system that Harriet mentioned.
Or you could keep atmosphere cooped around an asteroid, like in 'the little prince', and even make it pop around where you want, which is a very low-tech sort of space ship, with chickens living on it or whatever.

Or indeed in another piece of written work somewhat more on-topic for this list... Unfortunately there was no sign that the author understood that artificial gravity was required to achieve the effect he described.
