They're so busy thanking fate, they don't have time to wonder why there are clothes fit to size, or why Soolin doesn't wonder at all the new-comers. I mean for an intelligent, resourceful woman, how could she miss the large influx of people coming in and lack of them leaving?

It would depend on 'how often' Dorian needed to replace his 'other half', and how far in advance he would be aware of the need to do so - and how long Soolin had been his companion. He might be able to have Soolin 'elsewhere' while he replaces the 'creature below.'
