But my introversion has always been apparent; it's the T-F modified by P that I needed a real explanation for - I was always getting criticized for my apparent lack of warmth, or getting accused of lying when I was being completely truthful, because I don't give off the same visual cues that most people do.
I still have a problem understanding why people think that a person making small talk instead of getting to the point makes them more honest, or being willing to negoiate from wildly different stances on a deal (if I changed my price, that would mean I'd been trying to over charge you before, wouldn't it?) My office played with Meyers-Briggs a little to do team building excercises. I came away with a bad taste in my mouth because they didn't get into explanations and tolerence; it was more like "Make yourself more likeable to other people by being what they expect".
Tying this into Blake's 7, perhaps the reason for "Avon apologists" is that we feel that the majority of people will condemn him on the basis of likeability alone, and blind themselves to Blake's occaisional manipulation because he is 'warmer'.
