Was it a four year fight, the same with real time, or did we just see the highlights?

I assume a year per episode (after all, the crew doesn't age much). And that we just saw the highlights even then.
Some eps happened quite close to each other e.g. 'Children of Auron' and 'Rumours of Death', but you could say they averaged an ep a month, giving room for lots to happen in between. In one of the 1st season eps, Vila says they've broken into similar installations before, but we haven't seen them doing it. We don't get to see the missions that go like clockwork as they'd be a bit boring. In some other eps, Vila (again) complains of being bored, or that it's very quiet, implying that they don't often have long periods of inaction.

I assume that "four year fight" refers to the actual series, although I wonder if the Liberator crew ever bothered to watch sports vizcasts when they could sit on the flight deck and handicap the Match of the Day.
