Well, personally, I fail to see how it is ANY different than running around saying that homosexuality is morally wrong. One is MY opinion and the other is YOUR opinion. I could just as easily quote your own words back at you. Would you have me lie? Pretend to be something I'm not? Pretend to feel something different than I feel? No? Yes? Or is it really okay with you (obviously it *isn't*) for me to air my personal feelings about your religion on a huge mailing list? No? Then maybe I don't want *you* to air your personal feelings about my lifestyle, by the same token. Get it?

Annie, perhaps you don't realise it, but you are coming across in a very objectionable way here. In terms of the politics of sexual orientation, I probably have more in common with you than with Kathryn-- but I feel more sympathetic to Kathryn, simply because she is being polite. She has said that she feels homosexuality is morally wrong-- but she is not condemning others for feeling otherwise, and has shown herself willing to listen and agree to disagree. There *is* a difference between what Kathryn said and what you said, and it's in terms of the way you both said it.
Julia and Shane have been having a thoughtful discussion just now on how an interesting and thought-provoking message can be obscured by a confrontational and strident posting style. You might want to go back and have a look at it.
