That would be because it *was* his thesis... or perhaps his doctorate work. It's been so long ago that I don't remember. I do remember that we had some of the chapters before they were published directly from him. I don't remember *why* we had them, though. Maybe Leah remembers, because she was the one who corresponded with him directly.

There's a pleasing symmetry that he so often writes about shows that needed a LOT of padding to bring them up to length. One thing I like about Jenkins: he seems to like both B7 and fen much more than Camille Bacon-Smith does.

I believe his doctorate was on vaudeville.

I think it's generally considered good manners to send out something like that, particularly if you're quoting someone and they might like to check it.
