Sorry, I meant Vila would promptly forget the name of the place he was meant to take the Ultimate Weapon :-) (I love that little moment in Countdown where, panicked and flustered, he completely forgets his instructions on how to get through the corrdiors).
I agree he wouldn;t have forgotten Blake, but then he didn't any more than Avon (which is why he caught on so fast in 'Blake' ... "you think you've found ...")

Me too. Poor Vila could be the very defination of 'scared witless' at times.

I've loved him ever since Gan yells at the guards to drop their guns in Space Fall, and Vila gets so flustered he drops his own instead. That's something I would do.

That's why I love Vila too. He isn't a brave hero like so many in SF--he's as scared as I would be, but very witty and so likeable with it. I can identify with him. Mind you, in his place, I'd have got Blake to drop me off at the nearest civilised planet with a nice farewell present from the treasure room. :-)
