Having finally got Quicktime back on my computer after a long absence, I
hopped over to the Ghostwatch site the other day and took a look at the mini-documentaries Paul Darrow did (running about three minutes each). Atmospheric stuff, and nice to see Paul, but I have to say, if he gets any hammier, someone will stick him between two slices of bread and call him a sandwich. I do hope he's going to be a bit more restrained when (if) he plays Avon in the movie. Avon the psychopath I think I could cope with, but Avon the ham sandwich . . . it hardly bears thinking about :-)<
That's why some of us look forward to that movie with some trepidation :-)
Talking about movies, I was watching "The Living Daylights" the other day and it struck me how much, in the opening scenes on Gibraltar, Bond resembled Avon. The windswept hair, black clothes, all the running around... I had great fun imagining it was Avon out there.
With a strong director to keep him in check, Darrow could have made a great James Bond.
