Is there anyone out there who *does* watch B7 or another show at least partly (and large-part, please) for one of the minor characters, with little interest in the majors?
Buffy. The lead is self-centered and often obnoxious and/or whiney. But Giles is so marvellous. I like Xander. Anya says the most unbelievable things. In fact, I think the entire ensemble is terrific. I'd be happy if the pulled a 'Blake' with her and let the show go on without Buffy if SMG deecided to leave. Angel, similiar. I originally watched it for Doyle. Then Cordy kept developing and now is the best character. Gunn is neat, too.
When I was a child, Chekov was my favorite character on the original Star Trek series.

It's sort of nice in a revisionist way though...the show would be less interesting with a nicer lead.

You mentioned the three best ACTORS in the thing--and as for Angel, Angel is a good part badly played, Doyle was a mediocre part well played (which, I suspect, is why they got rid of him), Charisma Carpenter is getting better as an actor, and J. August Richards is a good actor in a disappointing role.
