My preference for lots of armour is largely an aesthetic whim, which is why I prefer Excalibur
Oh, RIGHT, Neil... the show I can't stand because of the scene near the begining when Arthur's father is ravishing the woman wearing FULL armour including SPIKEY breastplate. OUCH! I consider it the tackiest and least credible use of armour in any show I've ever scene. I'd rather look at Space Rats.

Er, if I recall correctly, the woman isn't actually wearing anything...
Okay, it's silly. But how can you write off this beautiful pre-Raphaelite movie on the basis of one silly scene in over two hours when you're a fan of a series with at least one silly scene per 50 minutes?
Alright, so there's more than one silly bit in Excalibur. But Perceval and the Grail Quest is the biz.
