Incidentally, I can't think of anything which I would regard as gospel in these parts, apart, perhaps, from "Blake's 7 is quite a good programme"; all of the instances you cite have been hotly debated at one time or another.

Hmm... I'd have to disagree with you, seeing as the Doctor's appearance is the catalyst for the events of the story, and also cos I couldn't see any of the one-off characters giving the "do I have the right?" speech.
