I like this episode a lot.
Me too.
Almost everyone's double crossing almost everyone else - it's very B7 ;-)
I'm one of the victims too. I just can't figure out what Belkov did with his crystals (did he have any at all, where were they) or what happened at the end (did Belkov survive, or did he get sucked into the black hole?)
Incidentally why on earth (Or Mecron 2 for that matter) does Vila take that knife with him!
Maybe he's trying to overcome his aversion to knives, or has already and is proud to show it?
And why on any planet does Tarrant leave Vila as back-up?
Because Vila can get through any lock to rescue them, and Tarrant needs the others with him; they're much better in a fight than our Vila.
another of my favourite lines.... VILA: Oh nothing much, I've been shot at, trodden on, nearly captured twice and now I think they're trying to blow me up. A fairly average day. You know.
I just love that too!
Either Belkov needs to get some better computer security or Vila is much better at sweet-talking computers than Mr-computer-tech Avon.
Well, Gambit was a bit pissed with Belkov. Pity Vila couldn't convince her to abort her self-destruct sequence. She would have been such a fun computer to have around, esp. for Vila who needs some fun in S4. I'd love to have seen Gambit interacting with Orac and Slave.
It also doesn't make sense that the stealing of a random circuit board would help Avon and/or Orac. A bit like a TV program I saw as a kid where some people stole the exact bit of computer memory which had the data they wanted in it. Can anybody help with this?
Computer games, even rather lethal ones, seem an odd way to protect anything.
It was Belkov's nature, his obsession, his raison d'etre.
I can forgive it though for the amusement factor of seeing the way there's a game just cut out for each of the people who go over to the Orbiter
Lucky coincidence, huh? Or just a well-rounded crew? :-)
oh, and for the look on Tarrant's face when Vila grabs his foot.
And poor Vila's so clever with that lock and just gets shoved aside...

Yeah, I couldn't figure out whether he was supposed to have survived or not.

I do like the bit where the guard finds it on him. VILA: I found it. GUARD: Where? VILA: It was stuck in one of your men.

This is true. I'm quite suprised Tarrant would actually trust Vila to actually come and find them even though he knows he'd capable of doing so. That's also one of my favourite moments though, Vila very obviously full of bounce and pleased with himself "Tarrant this is your one-man backup team!"
I'd love to have seen Gambit interacting with Orac and Slave.
I don't think Orac would like her much, he sounded wuite sulky when she was beating him at chess. ;-)

Ah that must be it ;-)

Avon really does seem to be in a particuarly snarly mood (even for him) throughout the episode.
Vila has a rather good day though.
Well okay he gets them spotted when they first go down but even then Tarrant just seems resigned rather than angry with him.
He's unusally calm when they're captured and his reflexes when Dayna pops up are spot on. (he's obviously an expert at 'Duck!' ;-)) He sweet talks Gambit, gets the circuit, rescues Tarrant and Dayna, is unusually calm and accurate with a gun when he zaps that guard, and opens the lock on the orbiter while not getting thumped by Tarrant for nearly tipping him onto his backside ;-)
