I think "potato" fits, too, and I also can't tell you exactly why.

My favorite "Gan" moment in fan fiction is an old, old story (I think it was in an early issue of "Fifth Season" where Gan is shot and it takes him pages and pages to get out a complete sentence to tell everyone. It was brutal to poor Gan, but it was hilarious. The story itself was a parody, anyway, so they were "picking" on everyone, not just Gan.
