If Zen is Sopron based where would the System have got the Sopron?

Or are there Sopron-equivalents elsewhere? Would Sopron -creatures breed elsewhere (assuming that there are/were occasional contacts between the System and its predecessors and the Federation)?

And as for Avon and Zen - from 'Killer' it appears that Terran interstellar space travel has existed for over 700 years and there must have been a number of independent technologically advanced societies that the Federation and its predecessors encountered (Auron and possibly Cephalon and UIltra among others are shown, so there #must# be more). Therefore any 'sufficiently knowledgeable' computer persons would encounter 'non-Terran architecture' computers (even as historical curiosities). Avon, being logical and a 'sufficiently knowledgeable' computer person would not be starting from scratch.
