I'm based in Australia, and use a Palasonic, which is a low quality piece of junk, requiring tickering everytime I want to change regions. I had to write myself instructions and put them inside the entertainment unit so I could remember them.
I use the Australian and Chinese regions most, but the US and UK regions sometimes. Does anyone know of a good multi-region brand that is less temperamental, or a reliable means of "fixing" a single region brand?
I'm in New Zealand, and we have a Pioneer 525 DVD player which was hacked by the shop we bought it from. They do it without even taking the lid off the player and thus voiding the warranty.
It does 'auto zone' based on the zone of the DVD you insert. It pretends to be that zone, so you never need tell it what zone to use. The same goes for the DVD drive in our Dell PC. We happily play DVDs in both which we've bought here, the US and the UK.

Hi there,
in a burst of energy (or insanity) this month, I decided to list instances when Liberator/Scorpio crew thank or praise one another. I was mainly interested to see how Blake encouraged his crew, but the list also threw up a few odd things, eg: Avon thanking computers in the 3rd and 4th series (I'm sure this has been pointed out before, but hey). A somewhat restricted line of research ;o), but thought I'd share the file anyway.
here it is: http://freespace.virgin.net/gemma.tiley3/thanks.htm
