Where else would Ensor get the 'beasties' from apart from locally (the local seawater was acidic - did Vila end up with burns on his unbooted foot?) - and one reason why the Phibians would try and 'invade' - they wanted their offspring back. (I know frogs have lots of tadpoles but...)
