Jacqui said: There would have to be some sort of 'agreed upon' means of dating to avoid confusion (eg in the Solar System Mercury's year is 88 Earth days, Pluto's 240 Earth Years) - but what about galactic positioning - there would have to be some agreed upon zero 'longitude'. Perhaps one of the functions of Star One was to be the equivalent of 'Greenich Zero' - especially as it handled a certain amount of Galactic communications.
Also - as the Andromeda Galaxy would serve as a 'neutral zero' (if the invasionary tendencies of some of its inhabitants was ignored)- both the Federation and the System could agree to use it....
If no-one knew where star one was, could they use it, or the andromedan galaxy as a zero point? perhaps they all just bumbled about in the dark with really powerful torches? I recall in ST voyager they always take fixes from nearby star configurations to navigate about by. also zen got a bit "information" like when they stepped off the theoretical edge of the glaxy and into galactic space. there was nothing there...and jenna was concerned about getting lost. also zen again in moloch, with no stars to navigate by, the ship had to be taken into manual control as the intruments were unable to cope without recognised stars to navigate by. A little bit like a pilot who becomes spacially disorientated in zero visibility, especially fighter pilots who travel at high speed. they can be upside down and in a left hand bank when they think they're up right and in a right hand bank not aware as visual cues and other sensations the body feels are confused. Then again i'm a BA man with a history / english major and have a rudimentary understanding of the physics of space etc...where's my torch...or... "I'll get me coat." You can always start one.
Though they are much less formal than clubs, these... acronymic gatherings...

Oh, you might be surprised. J.A.D.E. is getting better organized all the time. Already a significant presence, soon we'll be driving the fandom juggernaut. ;-)

And just think of the havoc Jarriere could wreak at the wheel of a juggernaut...

Of course she was--neither Blake nor Avon would ever stop at a petrol station and ask for directions.
