And I'd been wondering whether to respond to this thread by saying that there was certainly an IRA mainland bombing campaign in the early 1970s, as I worked for the Post Office and was part of a team that managed security for its London computer centres during that time. And even further back, when I was a little girl, I recall being held up on the North Circular Road when an IRA bomb went off one Easter somewhere near Stonebridge Park and burst a water main. Plus ca change..... Anyway, by not replying immediately, I was able to roll two replies into one... It was bloody scary last night, though, hearing that so clearly and knowing what it meant....
