I'm up to date and the lyst seems a much more happy place - hippee. Anyway just remembered that bit in Rumours of Death where Tarrant says the structure could be pre-atomic. That could be a nod to our time, e.g.big atomic war, a new calendar. Thereby little is left of our time in terms of memories, if you're trying to survive a war, you dont have time for the little niceties. The human race stuggled to survive - lost their past, gained 'life', well kind of, suppressant filled life and gained Blake and Avon - seems fair to me.
