That's an easy one. The latest worldwide figures have shown that about 40% of all married men commit adultery during the course of their lives. By the claims of the church itself, only 2% of the population is gay (the gays themselves claim a figure closer to 10%). An aggressive attack by the Church on adultery, on a level and intensity reserved for homosexuality, would alienate a much larger proportion of their membership, so the truly vehement campaign is reserved for the minority they see as more vulnerable and expendible.
Jesus spoke out repeatedly against adultery, and with great conviction. There are no documented words by Jesus on the topic of homosexuality. Not one.

Which church ? Unless you are now in receipt of personal messages from the Church Triumphant :) You are talking about different churches and denominations. I don't know which of them offer opinions on what % of the population is gay.

It's probably less cynical then that. No-one has seriously suggested that adultery should cease to be regarded as sinful. On the other hand there is an articulate body of opinion which suggests (quite rightly IMHO) that St Paul may have been wrong when he opined that homosexual acts were sinful. (I use the phrase advisedly, as I don't believe the categories of gay men and lesbians would have been recognised in the first century C.E.)

Could you please either bring this back on-topic or take it to the spin list?
