Far better than Godiva chocolates are the Leonidas ones you can get on the continent, and a few shops in England, notably Selfriges - worth the journey on their own.

I wondered if anyone would mention these....
Many is the time I've wandered up to the Leonidas counter in Selfridges, pointed at the large (1kg) box and said "just fill one of those with pralines, please - any pralines will do."
This usually comes in at under £20, and is well well worth it IMHO.
I managed to get one of my American colleagues hooked on Leonidas just before she returned to the US. After a brief return visit where she stocked up, she discovered a Leonidas shop in Boston where she lives. Boy am I in trouble with her :-)
