I thought what tehy were seeing was her on Earth's Heaven-cloud, while the others went to the Narnian afterlife. Not damned, just; Susan accepted 'reality' while the others still kept Narnia in their hearts.
I'm being tongue-in-cheek, really - although there is the suggestion that Susan becomes enamoured with worldly concerns and rejects the heavenly, lipstick symbolizing this.
