Killfiling is when you have your mailreader do that deleting for you, based on the sender or the subject line or something. That way you don't even have to see the annoying posts.
More advanced mailreaders generalize the killfiling to "scoring", where you can give different senders, subjects and lots of other things numerical values (scores). You then get your mail sorted with the highest-scoring stuff first, and with the stuff that got scores well below zero thrown away unread. Combined with automatically sorting incoming mail into different folders, scoring makes it possible to easily handle huge amounts of mail.
