I was taking the B7 character [Avon] 'most like' Sherlock Holmes.
I suppose he is, but both Holmes and Avon are unique enough people that that's not saying a whole lot... Their main point of similarity seems to be that they're both intellectual types who tend to mistrust messy emotional stuff. And there's the arrogance, of course. But beyond that, I don't think their personalities are all that similar. For one thing, Holmes has a strong sense of social justice, and Avon, well, doesn't. In fact, he's just the sort of person Holmes would be trying to put behind bars... Plus, I can't see Avon carving Servalan's intitials into his cabin wall with a Liberator handgun, or Holmes trying to throw Watson off an, um, sinking ship...
Imagine Holmes, Poirot et al ending up on the Liberator....
Could be fun! Except that Holmes, poor guy, really only functions properly in his own time and place. Take him out of Victorian London and stick him on the Liberator, and his encyclopedic knowledge of tobacco ashes has just become useless.
