I can't find my note with cast birthdates. These were easy to find on the net: Steven Pacey was born in 1957. Glynis Barber was born in 1955.
I've heard that Jan was about Paul's age. Don't know if that's true. My memory could be wrong, but I believe Paul was born in 1941 and Gareth in 1944.

The episode is a bit confused on that point. Zen does tell us the harvest is every 15 years, but Jarvik tells us that Tarrant served on the Kairopan shuttle only a few years ago:
SERVALAN: You speak with familiarity, as one who knows him. JARVIK: Knew him. A few years ago. He served as lieutenant on the Kairopan escort shuttle. It was his first command.
So apparently Tarrant's service on the shuttle wasn't at the time of the last harvest, unless one is to assume that 15 = a few. Perhaps it was a training exercise? Or a movement of Kairopan not related to the harvest?
