see if anyone on the list has the out of print zines and a scanner and see if THEY can scan your fic into their computer and post it for you. That way the time it takes to retype every B7 fic you ever wrote for an out of print zine won't be wated actually retyping it.
The point about retyping is a good one. I know none of my early stuff was written in electronic format, since I didn't actually own a computer of my own until I'd been in fandom for about seven years!
It would also help newbies who like me are isolated from other fans geographicly and who can't afford the zines. Also it'd be nice if those writers with webpages with their fics on it would post the URLs to the bookmarks of this list if you haven't already.
http://www.katspace.com/works/kathryn_a I've just checked, and apart from a couple of poems, all my out-of-print stuff is available there.
Or just look at http://www.katspace.com/works because there's not just me there; but most of the others are just listings of what zines their stuff can be found in. I'm pretty sure I could persuade some of them to let their stuff be put up, but there is the "time to type it up" problem. Apart from Brenda Bailey and Felina Archer (both of whose stuff is already there (and not B7 anyway)) the others are all Enarrare contributors, and Enararre wasn't produced in electronic format until issue 9 or so (and everything from 8 onwards is still in print, anyway).
I understand it takes time to retype stories and sometimes it would just be a whole lot easier on you if you had saved your stories to disk whenever you had the time to do so. But those fans that have scanners and the zines could help too lessen the load as it were.
Well, as I said, some of us were writing before saving to disk was an option. "Alternative Escape" was actually the first thing I wrote on computer (I used the computer at work, naughty me!)
characters are almost always out of character. Anyway if I insulted anyone with the 'its not fair' bit I'm sorry.
Apology accepted. (-8
Thank you and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!
Shalom!
