Do you seriously think that people are so stupid that a) they don't understand what you're saying and b) they don't understand that you are
being
deliberately insulting?
I do not presume anyone to be stupid. I would like to think they understand everything I and anyone else is saying, even if they make a shallow pretence of being incapable of doing so.
I would also hope that they are perfectly capable of recognising a deliberate insult when they see one, which in this case was exactly what it was intended to be.
