Is it my own Avon-centric p.o.v., or is there a reason it seems that Avon is the easiest to find 'avatars' of in other fiction

In contrast, Blake seems more difficult to find eqivalents of, possibly because he is less of a type? He's often compared to Robin Hood. Maybe King Arthur could be another avatar.
For me, I think it's that I'm more conscious of a character being like Avon, probably because he seems to be more the original, full throttle . . . him. Spock predates him but is so much _nicer_ . He remains a related but different character type. Holmes may be related but lacks Avon's thorniness. Snape is him, but Avon was rather clearly written first.
Blake, OTOH, seems more clearly based on his archetypes rather than the other way around. So that's how I see a character who may remind me of him. As for Vila avatars, they only seem like Vila if they're interacting with Avon. Otherwise, they're just trickster archetypes to me. The same really with the others (only perhaps more so, since I never felt the clearly defined verbal style Avon and Vila had).
Then again, I've noticed I've been kind of overly critical with some of the books I've picked up lately and might not notice a good avatar if he or she jumped off the pages and handed me a driver's license with a B7 character's name on it (just found out one of my favorite authors loves Louise Cooper - and that I'd enjoyed some books I didn't realize were by her when I wasn't in this present, persnickety mood).
