That's true, you didn't. Also to be fair, I'd be just as upset if somebody had said 'gays are sick'. I don't recall anybody doing that (and I've gone back and checked, though it is possible I missed something.) Mudslinging disturbs me no matter who's throwing it.
But then, it's quite easy for me to divorce someone's behaviour (ethics, morals, whatever) from his intrinsic worth as a human, in much the same way that we sometimes divorce the sets and fx from B7's intrinsic worth as an entertainment. Which is why I asked the question I did, and I thank you for your thoughtful, civil answer.
