Hm. Interesting interpretation, but I think it's a real stretch to turn this into a pro-life message. Even if I subscribed to the view that Meegat's life were in some way a 'cost' (which I don't), I'd have read that as prioritizing the survival of an entire race over one individual. Gene banks don't to my mind equate to 'unborn'.
