Thinking about it, it's amazing that Blake wasn't more paranoid.
The GP testing scheme is a tad crunchy around the edges, isn't it? ]
A typical Blake day might run:
Travel to friendly planet to offer help to native people. Who try to kill you. Federation arrive. And try to kill you. After hair-raising scrapes (hair-curling?), teleport back to Liberator in traditional nick of time, to be reunited with friendly computer expert, who, for what it is worth, you have always trusted.
And who kills you. (Eventually, anyway.)
But, in line with the earlier discussion of verification, who went YEARS at a time without killing Blake.
Which raises another question. Out of all the people Blake met, how many did _not_ try to kill him at some point or another?
Perhaps one should use this to re-assess his vaunted leadership skills. Not to mention the fact that out of all the people Blake met after Cally, NO ONE chose to sign up.
