Ooh, I haven't had a go at this killfiling game yet. Let's see, there's a list of subscriber emails kicking around somewhere <rummages in overflowing mailbox for Calle's admin posting> ... now all I have to do is killfile everybody on the list and then I won't have to read any posts that disagree with me! Wow - why didn't I think of this earlier?
Now that's not entirely fair. I've been killfiling, too, but that's mainly because these days I lack energy (so much so that I had to call in sick because of it), and reading even the little bits that were necessary to identify the personal attacks took a tremendous amount of what energy I did have. So I reluctantly killfiled those who seemed to be posting nothing but personal attacks. And you know, reading the lists suddenly became fun again, instead of a daily task.
I do not killfile because someone disagrees with me. I only do so when someone's postings drain my energy, and do nothing for me in return. I suspect that there are several people on the lyst with more energy than me who have nevertheless made the same decision.
BTW, if I don't answer or jump in, or suddenly stop participating halfway through a discussion, that's probably because my energy's run out again, and not because of a killfile. Just thought I'd clarify that.
